As I stand on the threshold of my own mortality with the feeling of your hand in mine
peering over the edge between this life and into the next
I see you

as you were
as you will be
in all of your totality and if I were not already breathless I would become so
my god you are limitless and the vast dimensions of yous are glorious

flashes of the eternal you dance between these lingering, stilling,dying heartbeats of mine and each one is both familiar and strange to me, did you know

how good your soul looked when wrapped in brown flesh with coiled hair and wide hips
how handsome you are now so long and lean
how irresistible you will be in your abundant soft and dimpled flesh of the future

in this moment I can see you in every lifetime that you have lived
and always
my self
next to you

it is the most beautiful thing I have ever beheld because us even at our worst is, was and shall be thaumaturgy at its best

now that I have borne witness to this in death
I can let go of your hand in life
allow my soul to fly up and away to land in your waiting arms once more
